Avoid: A Bold Font for Eye-Catching Campaigns

As a marketing designer, I’ve found that the right font can make or break a campaign. When preparing a product launch graphic for a new online course, I reached for Avoid—a bulky and attractive sans-serif font that is bold, impactful, and impossible to ignore. Its thick, powerful strokes and striking letterforms immediately set the tone for a high-energy, attention-grabbing message.

Using Avoid in this context wasn’t just about style; it was about strategy. The font’s visual weight made the headline stand out against a dark background, ensuring that even in a fast-scrolling feed, the message cut through the noise. It felt like the perfect match for a campaign designed to command attention without overwhelming the viewer.

Avoid for YouTube Thumbnails and Social Media Graphics

When designing a YouTube thumbnail for a video series, I needed a font that would hold up at small sizes and still feel strong. Avoid delivered. Its thick strokes didn’t get lost in the preview, and the letterforms maintained their clarity even when scaled down. This made it ideal for thumbnails where the text needs to be legible at a glance.

I also used Avoid for Instagram posts promoting a seasonal sale. The font’s boldness worked well with the platform’s visual-heavy format, making the callout text pop against colorful backgrounds. It added a sense of urgency and excitement that aligned with the campaign’s goal of driving engagement and clicks.

Avoid for Web Design and Landing Page Headers

In web design, avoiding clutter is key. When setting up a landing page header for an online shop campaign, I chose Avoid for its ability to create a strong first impression. The font’s commanding presence made the headline feel like a statement rather than just text. It paired well with a clean, modern layout, allowing the message to take center stage without competing with other elements.

One thing to keep in mind is that Avoid works best as a display font rather than body text. Its thick strokes and heavy weight make it less suitable for long paragraphs, but as a heading or subheading, it adds a level of drama and focus that can elevate the entire design.

Avoid for Brand Identity and Promotional Visuals

For a brand identity project, I experimented with using Avoid in logo-style text. The font’s striking letterforms gave the logo a modern, confident look that felt both professional and approachable. It worked especially well when paired with a simple, geometric icon, creating a cohesive visual language that reinforced the brand’s personality.

I also used Avoid in a promotional graphic for a webinar banner. The font’s boldness helped the headline dominate the space, making it easy for viewers to understand the purpose of the graphic at a glance. It was a great choice for a campaign that needed to communicate value quickly and clearly.

Avoid for Digital Ads and Email Banners

In digital ad campaigns, readability and impact are everything. When building a Facebook ad layout for a new product teaser, I relied on Avoid for the main headline. The font’s thick strokes and clear letterforms made the message easy to read across different devices and screen sizes. It stood out in a crowded ad space, helping the campaign achieve higher visibility.

For email banners, Avoid added a touch of energy and professionalism. It worked well with a minimalist design, allowing the message to be both eye-catching and easy to scan. I paired it with a lighter weight of a complementary sans-serif font to create contrast and balance, which improved the overall flow of the design.

Avoid for Content Series and Branded Templates

When working on a content series for a blog, I used Avoid for the title cards and section headers. The font’s boldness helped differentiate each post and created a consistent visual theme across the series. It felt like the perfect fit for a campaign that aimed to build a strong, recognizable brand presence.

I also incorporated Avoid into a branded template pack for a client. The font’s versatility allowed it to work across different formats, from social media graphics to print materials. It added a premium feel to the templates while maintaining clarity and readability in all applications.

Overall, Avoid is a font that demands attention and delivers on its promise. Whether you’re designing for social media, web, or print, its bold, impactful style makes it a go-to choice for campaigns that need to stand out. Just remember to use it strategically—pair it with simpler fonts for balance, and avoid using it in situations where clarity and subtlety are more important than impact.
